The name

Virsa means heritage

It's the word for what gets handed down — recipes, technique, the way a kitchen sounds on a Friday night. We took it as our name because it's the honest description of what we cook.

Rooted in flavour

Virsa is a family Indian and Bangladeshi takeaway on Ashton Road in Denton. The menu runs from the classics people have ordered for decades — bhuna, madras, rogan josh, korma — through to the dishes we built ourselves: Shahi Meat Melody, Hyderabadi Green Chilli Chicken, the Naga Fusion for anyone who wants the heat to mean something.

Spices are blended in house. Meat is marinated overnight and finished in the tandoor. Breads are stretched and slapped into the oven while your curry is still in the pan, so the naan lands hot in the bag.

Tradition meets innovation, and every guest is welcomed like family. That's on our menu, and we meant it when we printed it.

How we cook

  • Cooked to order

Nothing sits under a lamp. Every curry starts when your order does, so the spice tastes like it was ground this afternoon — because it was.

  • Heat, your way

Mild korma to a North Bengal Phall that we'll ask you twice about. Tell us where you sit and we'll cook to it.

  • The tandoor

A real clay oven, hot enough to seal a marinade in minutes. It's why the tikka comes out charred at the edge and still soft inside.

  • Fed like family

The portions, the welcome, the extra chutney nobody asked for. That part isn't a business decision.

Come and eat with us.
